Siglap and the Good Old Days! (Senior & Wheelchair-Friendly Tour)

Join us on a journey to the East, to the unexplored areas of Siglap, where fishing villages and coconut plantations once stood. Gawk at the ginormous turtle mural inspired by the history of the area next to picturesque “sideway” terrace houses and who would have known, a stretch of well-preserved seawall which once served as markers of the former coastline still stands in a discreet part of Siglap.

Seize your last chance for a photo in front of Singapore’s first waterfront bungalow before it undergoes redevelopment and also the well-maintained villa once owned by the “King” of Bedok! We cruise down Opera Estate and learn how the street names are reminiscent of Grand operas and Malay operas.

The highlight of the tour is an unforgettable trip down memory lane to admire the immense collection of vintage memorabilia belonging to our passionate host David! We go back in time as David narrates his Instagram-worthy nostalgic set-ups of an old school barbershop, yesteryears-style coffeeshop, tailor and provision shops! We recollect further with a friendly competition of childhood games of Kuti Kuti, pick up sticks and Snap while sipping teh tarik from a classic kopitiam cup and saucer!

Complete your experience with a homely meal at British Hainan, a quaint and cosy restaurant filled with retro vibes and collectibles… a fitting finale to the good old days! OR Halal option at Hjh Maimunah (Joo Chiat), subject to minimum/maximum of 8 persons.
